As the world population grows, more and more people are competing for access to this limited water supply. The impact of human induced pollution and global warming makes water the most important environmental challenge in the 21st century, both in terms of water quality and quantity. The realization has already been reached: Water is not a limitless commodity, nor is it a substance that can be cost-effectively diverted from a region or taken away from a group such as farmers or ranchers without severe consequences to our food supply. One thing is certain, all species on this planet in one way or another will be affected by the increasing water deficit. The key to lessening the impact of such a shortage is in public awareness, education and the introduction of water saving equipments, which provides convenient ways to eliminate waste and encourage conservation.
